Mass joy is gripping the UK construction industry as the doom and gloom peddled by our pessimistic media has begun to lift.
Despite desperate attempts by newsrooms and newspapers to underline every single bit of bad news (and ignore the good), it is clear that the building industry is starting to recover slightly. Good news from Barratt Homes this week confirms what we are finding – houses are being built.
In fact, one of our major housebuilder clients has fourteen plots for us to safety deck next week on one site! Ok they are all social housing rather than private but bricks are bricks as far as worried tradespeople are concerned.
Sure, we must be cautious, but we prefer to empahsise the good rather than allowing an overly pessimistic media which loves nothing more than to roll in disaster like a dog rolling in a dirty puddle!
